If you’ve ever thought, “I’ll start once I get a better camera,” then this is for you

When I began my YouTube journey, I didn’t have any cinematic cameras or a crew.

I had a small smartphone and a stubborn belief that stories matter.

My earliest upload – simple, real, and cringe (well, to me) didn’t perform as well but the more I was putting out content, the better I got at the game.

Just kick off and don’t overthink things as you can see in the picture below (I just got started and figured it out later on)

I didn’t let the absence of great gadgets stop me because I had a GOAL which was to tell my story and create value.

I have a step by step guide of how I was able to offer value regardless of starting small in the YouTube Creator Academy.

One HARD truth is viewers click for value, no one cares about the camera quality as much.

The algorithm responds to viewer behavior, not your gear list.

Think of it this way:

Great videos don’t start with the most expensive setup.

They start with the camera in your pocket…

Your Phone.

Across hundreds of my uploads, 4  levers mattered most:

  1. A specific promise (in the title/thumbnail) that sparks curiosity with the audience.
  2. A clean hook in the first 30 seconds that shows progress, not just talks about it
  3. Contrast (stakes, surprise, or tension) that keeps curiosity alive.
  4. A simple CTA that gives the viewer their next win.

Here are some common excuses I hear (and the faster truth)

  1. Excuse: I’ll start when I can afford a new camera.

Solution: Start with your phone; spend your energy on hook, clarity and story beats.

       2. Excuse: “I need a better mic.”

Solution: Get close to your phone mic or use simple wired earbuds. Quiet room beats pricey gear.

I have ONE goal and ONE goal only and that  is to tell you to START TODAY.

You could start on your own, which might take you down the rabbit hole just like I did.

But if you need precise guidance that gets you results in the next 90 days…

You could take advantage of the openings I have just for a few serious creators.
